Set Information

Khans of Tarkir (KTK) will be the first set of the Khans block. It is set on Tarkir, the home plane of famous Planeswalker Sarkhan Vol. Tarkir is ruled by five different and rivaling clans, each of which ruled by a Khan. A major role in the set will be given to dragons, which are extinct on Tarkir but to which all clans are deeply devoted. Clans represent the so called wedges (similar to the shards in Shards of Alara):

The Abzan Houses:
Colors: Green - White - Black (GWB)
Dragon Aspect: Endurance
Clan Symbol: Dragon Scale
Khan: Anafenza

The Jeskai Way
Colours: Red - Blue - White (RUW)
Dragon Aspect: Cunning
Clan Symbol: Eye of the Dragon
Khan: Narset

The Sultai Brood
Colours: Green - Black - Blue (GBU)
Dragon Aspect: Ruthlessness
Clan Symbol: Dragon Fang
Khan: Sidisi

The Mardu Horde
Colours: White - Red - Black (WRB)
Dragon Aspect: Speed
Clan Symbol: Dragon Wing
Khan: Zurgo Helmsmasher

The Temur Frontier
Colours: Blue - Green - Red (UGR)
Dragon Aspect: Savagery
Clan Symbol: Dragon's Claw
Khan: Surrak Dragonclaw

Each clan will have its own game mechanic, up to now it has been confirmed that Khans of Tarkir will bring back the famous Morph mechanism (originally from Onslaught block and reintroduce in Time Spiral). Another key element in the Tarkir story is Time Travel.

The set will contain 269 cards (15 Mythic Rares, 53 Rares, 80 Uncommons, 101 Commons, 20 Basic Lands).

The release date for Khans of Tarkir (KTK) is September 26, 2014 (26/09/2014). The set will feature 40 different prerelease cards, out of a random pool of 8 cards per clan, one of which will be the clan's Khan himself.

Top 3 Standard Decks I've Played at Pro Tours

ConstructedBy ChristianS (2018-08-10)

Standard has been pretty dull lately, turbo fog and paradoxical outcome aside. Christian has decided that instead of rehashing the same old broken standard decks sporting a certain whirling goblin, he'd look back at his favorite decks through the ages in this look back at Standard years past.

Hochstapler – Bavarian Highlander

ConstructedBy Andifeated (2018-08-10)

Highlander might be the most popular way to build casual decks and enjoy Magic in a non-tournament environment. There are many ways to play Highlander and while Elder Dragon Highlander (AKA Commander) might be the most popular by far, there are many more ways to build singleton decks and have fun at the kitchen or bar table. Andifeated is here to show you a bavarian variant of Highlander – or as they call it in southern Germany “Hochstapler”.
